Hi folks, I'm an aspiring gunwriter, myself.  I regularly author a few columns through examiner.com, and have been published in Blade, Gun Digest, Tactical Gear, and SWAT.  I'm also the coordinator of the Firearms project on wikipedia.  There had been an outstanding request for a piece on Mr. Taffin for wiki and he's been a huge influence on my writing, so I wrote one up.  What do you all think?  Can anyone offer up any more details or supply a photo?

Howdy, Mike

Welcome to the site.
Looks like a good start! Plenty of Taffin Photos on the "Book of the .44" online edition,

pick out a nice one.

Be happy to set up a "Mike's Column" forum or blog if you have time and are interested in contributing here as well.
Thanks--
Al

Thanks Al, I would be

Thanks Al, I would be interested.   I don't really blog much, but would like to start.  Most publishers don't really care about the thoughts of new writers.  They want your writing to be based on sources.  Not opinions, maybe 20-30 years from now I'll have enough credibility for an editor to want my opinions, although I have been "noted as an expert" by other authors in a few knife articles in Blade.
As for the photo, I'd need the owner of the photos to give permission to release any to public domain.

Blogs...

I don't do any at all (yet), but this platform is blog ready, just need our first gun-e-pig.  I think we have a couple other members that have expressed interest so feel free to get the ball rolling.
Just click on your name or "My account" and you should  see  a "new blog entry" link in your account profile.
At first links to your new posts should automatically end up on the "Forums at a glance" page, and when I start to see some content I'll maybe play around with the formatting a little and add a menu link in some appropriate location.
Thanks--
Al
