Bob

Knew a guy who was well heeled and sent his Colt SAA to Bob for a complete Munden rework. When Bob finished the work he shipped the gun back covered with grease in one of his old socks!

I never got the chance to personally peruse it, but from the description provided by the well heeled dude  Bob fitted a coil mainspring and altered the lockwork in such a way as to make the action virtually break proof. I think the cost even then was over $2,000 + the SAA.
The story goes that Mr. Moneybags soon grew bored with the Munden special, and sold it off at a $500 loss.

An aside, Mr. Moneybags had a friend at that time who was quite savvy about SAA timing and lockwork fixes. He took apart the Munden special and reviewed it all, remarking something in appreciation for the modifications. So, Bob wasn't just Mr. Fastdraw, he was also a gunsmith who really did rebuild the SAA into a stronger gun.
Godspeed, Mr. Munden!
