One of my favorite sixguns to carry in the field isn't the prettiest by a long shot. It's a 4" S&W Mod. 19-5 and it's seen some rough use in it's time. I bought it used from my Brother-in-law and the finish is about 80%, but the action is as smooth as warm butter. I'm not one to keep guns hidden in the safe to protect them, but you always dread that first scratch on a new car or a new gun. I have a new Taylor and Co. Smoke Wagon tuned by Cody Conagher that has been to the range a few times, but hasn't been in the field yet and looks perfect. It's first scratch is just a matter of time.
