Hello to everyone,
I just wanted to let everyone know how proud I am to be here and to give a BIG thankyou to Mr. Al for helping me. I am not computer savvy. My fingers work well on my firearms but seem to fumble around on this keyboard. I have two handguns, a Browning Hi-Power and a S&W model 29-2 with a four inch barrel and nickle plated. It would be a perfect packin' pistol if it weren't in like new condition. I fired it three times and put it back in the presention case. My wife doesn't want me to "unpretty" it. I carry my Hi-Power everyday because I shoot it very well. I am looking to expand on my meager sixgun collection but with gas being $4.00 a gallon here in central Florida and being the sole provider in my household, well you can guess how tight my budget is.
I have been  a fan of Mr. Taffins for a long time. I admire his knowledge and his great story telling ability. His campfire tales are my favorite. Thanks again to everyone and especially to Mr. Al. God bless you all and this country. Have a great Easter.

Welcome to the forum, Paul

Here's a picture of that Smith he is talking about (and his hi-power):
I think you auto cut just enough from the budget to get one of our many fine leather friends to make you a rig for that Smith, to pretty to hide away in a box!

UNPRETTY?

I HOPE YOU CAN CONVINCE YOUR WIFE THAT THE PRETTIEST GUNS ARE THE ONES THAT HAVE BEEN "UNPRETTIED"!

carrying my smith

Thanks to Mr. Al again for gettin them pictures up for me. One day I'll learn how to do that myself. I have spoken to (or actually begged) my wife to allow me to carry my smitty. With some more encouragement from my new friends here and knocking a few items off the honey do list she may be convinced. So please help me to help her understand how important it is to use the big smith!! Maybe if I can get some of the leather guys here to send me some pics of their rigs that would help. She does love some good leather work. I'll stash away my lunch money to invest in a quality rig. Lord knows it won't hurt me to miss a few lunches! Thanks in advance for all your help.

Thanks

I really like the rig that covers the cylinder and hammer. Is there anyone out there who is making one like that? I also like Mernickles rigs. They look to be well made at a reasonable price.

That's it

The Barranti rig is the winner. I'll head to his web-site and see what I come up with. Thanks

Now you got me...

....rolling on the floor laughing.
You sure know a good holster when you see it. Not only did you pick one with a price tag that'll get you a divorce for sure, but looks like Mike's not taking orders until further notice so your probably safe.

Darn it

I just left Barrantis web site and he stopped taking new order as of January. There really is a lot of great choices. It's hard to decide.

I like the Simply Rugged holster. I checked them out and I think their prices will keep me out of divorce court.  That was funny admin. Do you have experience with Simply Rugged?

Thank You

I really appreciate the welcome Horsetrader! I'm pretty sure I'm going order a Simply Rugged with the optional IWB  loops. It looks like a quality rig that won't break the bank. Here in Florida the open carry bill is close to making the governors desk. I have a concealed carry permit and this new open carry law will permit me to carry the big Smith without fear of printing or accidental showing. I don't plan on carrying open but I won't worry quite as much about carrying a bigger gun. Happy Easter to you to. Phillipians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

My crossdraw with basket weave pattern. Turn around time from order to receiving was very short. I ordered this Threeperson style with a hammer thong instead of a strap and really like it. Can't beat Simply Rugged! Chris

Welcome Paul!

Paul, I'd like to welcome you to the forum also.
I think the S&W mod. 29 & the Browning Hi Power are two of the classiest guns out there. Thanks for sharing.
