It is alive! Got the Harper's Ferry cleaned out, and cleaned up. Got in some new flints, pounded a .490 round ball out flat to make sheet lead to wrap the flint in, and set it in place. Result: SPARKS!

So...

Have you shown a light or fiber optic down the barrel? How does the area down by the breech look. Hopefully, there is not any corrosion from the ball being there for however long. Was there powder behind the ball?
