Colt Grips on a Ruger

Has anyone tried fitting Colt SAA Black Eagles to a Ruger New Vaquero? Question my motives if you must,  but I happen to like the feel of the black eagles better than just about any other two-piece SA grip. And one-piecers are  hard to make work on a Ruger. Seems like there'd be two main issues.  One, can the dimensions of the grips be made to work with reasonable effort, and two, is the screw placement a problem?
Thanks.

Maybe?

Yes, screw placement may be the biggest problem. Looking at my Super Blackhawk it looks as if the coil mainspring will be in the way but the only way to be certain is to place a Colt grip on the frame and see where the screw hole will be in relation to that spring. As far as the dimensions I can't say since I don't have a Vaquero but it may be close enough with some careful fitting, especially if looks aren't as important as how you like the feel of the grips. The locator pin hole will most likely be different also. Sorry I can't be more definite but you can't lose anything by trying... Chris S

How the Mind Works

Thanks, Chris. I gave this more thought and bit the bullet. Put a NIB Colt SAA on layaway. The unfired Ruger, a 4 5/8" .357,  will get sold. The Colt will be wearing its own black eagles.
