nice gun but

Nice gun but the modified main spring would put too much stress on the spring, causing it to break. Elmer had a V spring on no.5. I beleive this to be the best. I have onlty seed springs like this done by blacksmiths trying to fix a broken one. It would make the pulling of the hammer difficult also. Not a good idea. This is why I do not think it has a keith connection, or it was changed after Al Ellinger had it.  Al was a big buck kind of a guy, liked to trow his considerable weight around. His wife seemed to be a nice person though, from what Elmer said, and the Pictures he took of her.

Good Guns, Good Friends, and Good Whiskey. I beleive Skeeter was on to something.
